    Battle of the Somme

Well harvest is underway but the ground state is terrible. I have never seen ruts so deep. No chance of driving around at night, only just possible in daylight. Combines up to their axles on most fields. Several fields may have to be abandoned as combine can't get on the ground.

Not only the ruts, almost 18" furrows with soil piled high, poor little Vitara hasn't a hope in hell of getting through some of it. At least the sun is shining, so foxing (on foot) we shall go.

I can speak in-depth and with great knowledge about most subjects until some bugger who actually knows what he is speaking about opens his gob .
