    I joined this forum back in 2007 but have only now got round to posting on the forum, not sure if thats a good sign or bad sign! i must have to much free time on my hands now.

    No spring chicken..started stalking in 1975, worked as a ponyman, then stalker with private estate then Forestry Commission and now contracting and running training.

    Started with a good old Rigby .275 then 7x57, once i started woodland shooting the .270 was purchased and been with it ever since, .222 for the Roe

    I've seen a few changes and not all for the best.

    Welcome, ah the old .275 Rigby remember using one on hinds many moons ago.

    Yep,when i progressed from ponyman to my first stalkers beat i was given the rigby by the head stalker and told its a great old rifle hardly done anything, i found out very quickly that the first 2 shots were fine but once the barrel was hot you had no control where the shots went, so went out and bought a parker hale myself.The Rigby was very nice to handle though..

    Hello and welcome - - I started as a ponyman myself in Coignafearn - - the day before yesterday - - aye that'll be right !!
