    Load Development advice...

Wondering if anyone could help me? I'm new to reloading and was wondering what is the best method to go about load development? I am loading for a 243 with 90gr scenars and N540 if that helps.

    Thanks!

Do you have a reloading manual? It process is explained in detail in most loading manuals. If you have the Lee, it wil also teach you how to make an educated choice in powder selection. In a nutshell: start with minimum and work up.~Muir

I had a look at a loading manual and the overall length given for a 243 was way beyond the length of a factory load so I found out the length of a factory load that shot well in my rifle and used this as my starting length. Then worked up from the minimum load and once I was getting the best group I could started to alter the bullet seating depth. I think I have a workable load now. Hope that helps.

Good planning! I had one for roughly 27 years, three months, ten hours, and 34 minutes (who's counting??) but the poor thing wore her heart on her sleeve and another guy snagged it. No regrets.
