    h4895 for sst 343 &308

    right i now have all the gear with a little idea.some great feedback from my last post thanks to you all.i have decided to use 95grain sst in my 243 , and 150 grain sst in my 308 .in my 8edition hornady book it lists h4895 for the 308 but not the 243 bullet. i cant seem to find a powder to do both i really want use these bullets has anyone used same powder for these

    thanks for the link , they dont list 4895 for the 95sst

    What I would do and i am not suggesting you should is look for the closest bullet weight to it say for any other 95 or 100 gn bullet and go from there.

    Choose the next bullet weight up and start at the starting load.

    es i could do that i suppose being a novice though maybe i should choose a different bullet for the 243 the sst seems to tick the boxes for a varmint & game bullet . plenty more to choose from i suppose . i just wonder what the reason is that h4895 not listed

    Forget the fact that it is an "SST" it matters not a jot it is simply a bullet of 95 gn weight. choose the nearest h4895 load to it.

    ok just been back on hodgdon .com they list one load for 95 grain

    95 grain nos part 33grs=2869

    35grs=2990

    if i started at 33grs would that be ok.

    Yes no probs, just think of the bullet weight for the particular powder.
