    BF Goodrich Tyre Sizing

I have decided to follow the general consensus and get some BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tyres but they don't make them the same size as what is currently on my Hilux 255/70 r15. Anyone got experience with a suitable alternative size that will fit the alloys?

will the 235/75 15 fit the rims ok, I have checked the calculator and the speedo should read nearly the same.

    Cheers

I would think you will be fine although the BFG will be 20mm narrower. BFG do 265mm tyres though im sure. I think they would be a closer match.

you will also need to check the circumference as it will change your speedo reading. a 75 will have a bigger than a 70 depending on the width.Cheers

    70% of 255 = 178.5mm
    75% of 235 = 176.25mm

I dont think that 2.25mm is going to make any difference to speed readings.

I had the same problem when i put BFG KM mud's on my Hilux, because i needed to keep the same load rating i had to go for 30x650x15,which are fantastic but it did take a bit of working out, hope this helps ,cheers

Good luck mate, but I think you will be fine.

My defender came with 235/85/16 Grabbers and I replaced them with BFG Muds in 265/65/16. Ive done 30,000 miles on them without issue and with very little ware.

They are a fantastic all round tyre!

I have a similar issue. I have 265/65/17 tyres on a hilux and am looking to put BFG ATs on but they only come in 265/70/17. Has anyone else done this or know if it will cause any issues? I heard that they may rub slightly on the mud guards when the steering is fully locked but it doesn't do any harm?

    Cheers.

Guys, try this. Just type in current size and new size. Less stress on the brain.

I had the same problem when looking for Goodrich AT tyres for my Hilux. I finaly tracked them down and they are 30 x 9.50 x R15 .

Hope this is of some help.
