Rabbit diseases

By rhd, I assume you mean VHD - they are more likely to be found dead

1967spud is right RHD Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease otherwise known as Calicivirus.

Just to clear this up as I got a little confused... VHD and RHD are the same thing Viral/Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease... According to google can also be called RCD Rabbit Calicivirus Disease as Jimbo said...

Is it not a bit late/cold in the year for mixy?

No this morning was the first Rabbits i have seen with mixy for 3 years. But have Ferreted at Christmas one year and had to dig ferret that was on a mixy Rabbit. As long as its mild an outbreak can happen.

Not so much a man made disease, as man tampering with an existing virus to produce the results he wanted.

Therefore a man made virus.

Man only managed to create an entirely synthetic viral strain in the early 2000's (2002 I think), and even then it was only possible with a very simple strand.
more complex "pox" viral strains have not been synthesized

Prior to that any bacteriological or viral manipulation required an existing strain
