    Advise needed on Blaser R93 30-06

    I was on a range resently each time i removed the bolt (when not shooting) the magazine insert was able to fall out if i was not carfull i would have lost it.
    Am i doing something wrong, should the insert not stay i place somehow

    Do you mean the little metal tab in the mag that acts as a sort of bolt stop?

    If so then it is on a spring to push it up but there is a little screw in the "slot" in it that stops it from pushing up too far, or falling off. Maybe your screw has worked lose?

    If this isn't clear let me know and I will take a quick photo of mine.

    No its a separate magazine insert a plastic jobby that needs to be inserted when using 30-06, i think it is removed to fire 243,

    It's a feature, not a bug

    The magazine is designed to hold a number of different calibers - for example the 243 and 308 share the same magazine. If you look on the side of the magazine you will see the relevant calibers listed. This means that if you wish to switch between calibers you change the bolt head, the barrel and (sometimes) the magazine. The magazine is kept in place by the bolt, but if you remove the bolt then the magazine can be removed - though only if you hold the rifle upside down or vertical.

    Doubtless someone will post that it's another example of Blasers being over-designed
