nice to shoot old 308 parker hale Midland (from this forum)

I had this from a board member and it shoots rather well, but im not in a nice place just now so it has to go,the rifle has a seen some work over its years but shoots less than a 1/2" 5 shot group with privi and a wee bit less than that with my home loads. i have tried to hold on to it as i like it very much but i can't afford to reload 3 calibres with my lack of funds.

the rifle shoots very well and it shoulders rather nicely, but i can't hold on to this with it going to sit here collecting dust and i can't put a scope on it with no funds etc. anyone who has it will be surprised (we i think so) as to how nice it handles.

1, old Parker hale midland 308 win.

2, set of bases and 1" rings to fit a 50mm scope with ease.

3, set of lee dies, fl, neck.seater and seater and crimp.(4 all not had much use)

the rifle has more character that some old 1960 movies and has some bluing coming off and user marks on the barrel and stock,
but don't let that put you off

the barrel is 20" long and has a 1/2" unf thread and a clean crown.

the rifling is clean and the bolt moves with ease.

the trigger is not what i expected as its a fully adjustable one and is set at about 1.5 pounds but will go lower if needed,

I would class the rifle as a truck gun (but its better than that)

I do not have the funds to ship this so local meeting/collection is what is needed here, and ill have some brass and some heads as well to go with it,

    here are the pictures.

the front of the stock was trimmed to allow the use of a rather long mod but thats staying.

im not after much as i know what this rifle is worth,

Feel free to drop me a pm with what you have to offer,

So what you got for swaps lads,

    thank you

    bob.

    things im after.

    nice hand held nv unit,
    powders (rl10x/benchmark)
    20 tac heads/243 heads
not sure what else but im open to offers etc.

    Hi eddy.
Yes it is bud.times are hard so I have to keep the main rifles shooting and get shot of the 22 lr ( its gone already) and the 308 needs to go to as I can't afford to load for 3 rifles.

I still have the brass you gave me so you can have it back sir as I have not shot it for about a week and it now needs a new home

    Bob.

OK, I'll pick it up when I swing by some time, or if you are passing Kevins place, drop it over the fence where he can see it and I'll get it from him.
Now that you have the time get out and shoot some of these Fallow you told us about or even Muntjac they all fetch 2.20 a Kg.
I got a beauty last week, larder wieght of 57Kg. I've exceeded my picture allowance on here so can't post a picture unfortunately.
