    Deer seasons in scotland

    Just been on rimfire central and in the hunting section there in the photo section is photos of a stalker from the USA and a guide who were shooting roe does and red stags last week in Scotland , with all the talk of independence have you changed the doe season.

    Has it changed from Oct 21st to march 31st then?

    Hi all,
    Scottish shooting seasons (unless it's changed)

    Roe Does 21st October to 31st March
    Red Stags 1st July to 20th October

    Before under the farmers defence you could shoot female deer all year round under those conditions.Permission from landowner and on enclosed ground.(livestock proof fence/wall)
    Therefore since 1st April this year these new rules came in,that's since when.
    Sporting,21st October to 31st March.
    As said if problems allowed to cull longer.With written permission on enclosed ground(deer fence or livestock proof fence)
    If not enclosed require out of season license.....
    PS male deer can be shot all year round under these conditions(enclosed/damage and permission in writing to cull out of season)
