15 yard fox without a mark on him

2night we have been out foxin, and shot a good sized dog fox at 15yard (it must of liked my calling) with a .222 50grn norma BT, mr fox dropped on the spot ( stood side on) the wasnt a mark on him no exit wound etc not even a drop of blood! Why would this be? (And he didnt die from shock etc!)

Bullet broke up inside and didn't exit. Most foxes I shoot broadside on, the bullet never exits, just a carcase of mush. That's .22-250 with 50gr Vmax. There is usually a drop of blood or so at the entry, but not unheard of.
I'm telling Captain - from the Wee'est of men.

It would be interesting to skin it and then have a look at the damage done. You may be amazed at the amount of trauma and disruption caused behind a small entry wound that often closes and seals itself as the bullet enters.
