Did you call him in? Any roe in winter coat at this time of year must be a poor doer. Good one to take out.

Sorry but a bit of confusion here as wee buck shot last Autumn and "spot the roe" picture taken much earlier in same year.

The same buck was my only point but I stand to be corrected.

2010_0827_113012AA (3).JPGThese two boys were shot in a field of kale. I wouldn't have chosen to shoot them if left to my own devices but the farmer drove me to the field and said they'd been there for a week and were wrecking his crop. There had been several does with them but on this day they were nowhere to be seen. Their lardered weight was 177lb and 164lb.
 
Two pictures to share for the Boxing day fun of it. Before I took the pictures I missed the first opportunity as I got a bit excited when I seen them and tried to get too close too quickly.



Plenty of food for this herd of deer.



I am sure most of these will live a long happy life.
