    Decent Muntjac Buck

I shot this old boy this morning.

Not really a stalk. I walked through a gap in a hedge between a rape stubble and sugar beet field and there he was about 60yds away helping himself to wheat from a pheasant feeder. We both saw movement at the same time. I froze and after about a minute he resumed his feeding behind the feeder which gave me time to get the rifle off my shoulder and onto the sticks. A couple of minutes later he walked away from the feeder giving me a clear shot.

Lovely buck, but I doubt it will make gold. The scores for gold were increased. The brow tines need to be above 1cm to score and differences in symetry cancel out. I'd guess at a silver maybe? Interested to find out. Lovely animal though!

    Lovely looking buck.
What sort of age do you reckon he will be???

    Sometimes it's deceiving!
I shot this old boy in April and he had a huge head at first glance - not just antlers, but a physically abnormally large head!Attachment 20421
Although each antler is 13cm, they are not very thick, very little span between them and no measurable brow tine to count.
Might be silver, but that's about it I reckon.
