    hornady 87bthp and N150

    Hi

    Has any body got a good load using hornady 87hthp and N150 powder pls

    recommend you work your load up yourself watching for pressure signs given Lapua's official data.., but otherwise 33.75 is probably no bad bet

    Hi Dave (assuming .243), am happily using 87gn over 37gns of Viht150 (max) with remington brass, reasonable accuracy sub 3/4" although haven't fine tuned it as much as some others might

    sorry guys yes its 243 calibre

    ive been using 100 grain soft points with 35 grains of n150 but looking at going back to 87 grain hornady bthp

    how many grains of n150 do you susgest then with the 87 hpbt then lads

    I can't suggest best for your rifle, but my reloaders manual using Viht data (at the time) states start load 33.7 giving 2757fps, and max load 37.9 giving 2947. I opted for 37 grains so as not to be at maximum load and am getting around 2890 fps. As I said, I could probably fine tune it a bit better, but I am happy with what I have, but it may or may not work best in your own rifle. Good luck.
