    Cleaning the bore

I clean the bore on my rifles regularly ,well so I think I do,I've never been sure if they are clean,as many wet patches and scubs I do it never seems to be clean, every time I scrub with bronze brush put a wet patch through again and it comes out as dirty as 10 patches before

same for me too but i just kind of figure it may be to do with "crap" left on the brush?

The bore may gleam when you look through into a light but I expect there is plenty of pores and uneven surfaces all through,I bet you could wet patch and scrub all day long and it will be exactly the same,it's the green stain on patches you don't want too see, thinks its a long process, should leave soaking over night, not something I do,leave rifle out all night, lock them away

if its a copper solvent your using it could well be the brush breaking down, i had this for ages when using wipeout, i then noticed my brish was smaller when compared to a new one and figured

Get yourself a nylon brush,i patch out using 009 a couple of times, put the brush through maybe 10 times with KG12 then patch out a few times with 009 ,clean patch every time by the third patch, may need extra bushing if your barrel has a lot of fouling and give the KG12 a bit of time between each run through to do its work.
