    Defender tyre size

Is anyone running 285/75s on their defender? I want to know if they fit without modifications.

They'll rub on the radius arms but you can either live with it (even though its an MOT failure) or adjust the swivel housing stops to prevent rubbing, but your turning circle will be reduced.

i would have thought fuel consumption ill be reduced. i noticed a fair difference between 235/85 and 265/75. thinner being better.
my old 265's rubbed on the radius arms passed two mots before they picked up on it. quite annoying when they rub though. atb matt

A chap I shoot with had to do this when he put 265s on, so if that is all I have to do I will be happy.

That is interesting, I have been looking at the sizes that a readily available and haven't seen these advertised. This size comes out at 33 inches but tyres direct suggests that 33s need a lift on a defender is this because their 33s are 12.5 wide on 10" rims? Is anyone running 33x12.5 on a standard defender?

Are the spacers just so that you can keep the turning circle?

Yes pal but they don't touch the radius arms on mine either. I'm running 285/75.
