    Sako A7

Just bought a new Sako A7 in .308 from the Sportsmans Dorchester..

Many thanks to the guys again especially Rob who gave me a fantastic deal on a complete set up with Jet Z, scope, rings etc

Ive always used 123g Sako soft points in my Pro Hunter which after much playing with other rounds came out on top

I intend on having a play but wondered if anybody else has one and what rounds you have found suit it best..

I dont home load so info on factory ammo please

    Cheers

    Terry

I contemplated PX'ing my Tikka T3 .270 against one with Winkie......Did a search on here and came up with mixed reviews.

Interested to see how you get on with it,

Position and hold must be firm enough to support the firearm
The firearm must point naturally at the target without any undue physical effort
Sight alignment (aiming) must be correct
The shot must be released and followed through without disturbing the position

    Hi Stu,

Had some free Privi's thrown in with the rifle which grouped really well at 100

Was suprised to see these 150g sp come out at 11 a box

Took a nice doe off my permission with them tonight. Didnt like the damage so will see how my old favourites Sako 123g group with it...

Really happy with the rifle, very accurate, feels great and when zeroing the barrell doesnt retain a lot of heat being fairly thick..

Feels like a quality rifle for the money... Early days but im very happy

    Atb

I bought the book - http://www.ballisticstudies.com/shop...ng+Series.html Nathan's trying to make a living from his book, so I would rather not attempt to summarise his opinions and undercut his book sales. Regards JCS

I've owned a Sako A7 in .270 for the past 4 years. Love the weight and balance of the rifle, I'm using handloads 150 grain bullets with H4350 powder and it does clover leaf groups. Took a nice mule deer with it two season ago. I'm now thinking about getting a second one, just can't decide if 7mm-08 or 25-06.
