Mora of Sweden: Mora 2000 & Mora 2010

The 2000 initially (bottom), but subsequently found the 2010 (top) which is apparently a limited edition. Both were extremely sharp out of the box, but the 2010 has a slight shorter blade, nicer handle and nicer sheath. The annoying thing about the 2000 sheath is that it has a loop of leather, so you can't just throw it in the dishwasher.

They feel a bit heavier in the handle than a Frosts Clipper, due to the longer tang, found this post on a knife forum that has an x-ray picture for comparison:

Anyway, a bit nicer and but a bit pricier than a Frosts Clipper, in my opinion.

Cheers,
Mat

Bought a few similar knives to in back from sweden 12 years ago. Gave one each to some good friends of mine who tested the blades and then went for plasters. Mine has now run out of hardened edge but they are fantastic for the money. I think i paid about 6 pounds each then.

Cheers

Rather annoyingly I've managed to lose the 2010 since the original post. Also, the 2010 now called the 'Bushcraft Signal/Forest' and more expensive
I ended up replacing it with a clipper which is almost a third of the price!

BDS South West England have a stock of Mora made knives. We have the Carbon steel version, the Stainless too, plus a range of larder knives including boning knives and a ball end gutting / tripe knife. We sell bone saws too. All at good prices.
We sell them at the shows we do - This year we'll be at the Royal Cornwall, North Devon, Honiton, and Dorset County Shows. See us there.

I use a mora 840 carbon model granted it's not as long in the tang, but no complaints,

and is very easy to sharpen.

Rgds, Buck.

I bought a Mora for my brother at the last CLA game fair, told him it was razor sharp and to be careful as I handed it over, 2 seconds later he had cut his finger whilst checking the sharpness.
