    .25,06 for Muntjac

Mate and i are heading down to Bedfordshire as our half of a stalking swap, said mate normally uses 2506 and a 75gr Vmax , cant help thinking the combination would be a bit destructive if he was lucky enough to shoot one of these little deer...
What is anybody else useing or used out of this calibre.....

only shot 2 munties so far but they were with a .243 and 100gr sp. Did the job on them and damage to the venison wasnt too bad.

that will blow them up nicely, only saving is a muntjac carcass is not worth a great deal at the game dealers

25-06 with 115 gr sst. On roe and fallow.
I have shot only 2 Muntjac with this combo and one was not worth picking up. I had not done my homework and are much smaller than first thought.
So next time I may use my 243 with a 75 gr bullet but I see no problem as they were shot with a minimum of this calibre and 100 gr bullet till only a few years ago.

I use 100 gn federal premium ballistic tips they do the job just nicely on everything I've shot from munties to reds.

100 grain Barnes TSX's work well and not too much meat damage. I can't think why anyone would want to use a varmint bullet on a deer if it's to be eaten, unless of course its head or neck shot.

When I was using mine I loaded a simple 100grn Hornady soft point for it. Used mainly on sika but a good few roe as well. Never once thought they caused too much damage and the load was no slouch out a 26" barrel either.

I used to use the 117 gr federal classic soft nose stuff but the federal premium BT's group much better through my rifle.
