The anti hunting lobby will explore every opportunity.

I have just been on Brian May's website (know your enemy, my dad always used to say) and I found this exchange in the letters.

    Hi Brian

Owen Paterson's emergency committee 'Cobra' is asking the public to wash dogs and boots after visiting wooded areas to help stop the spread of the fungus which is killing ash trees.

I have just emailed LACS, IFAW & the RSPCA suggesting we insist that the government immediately bans hunting until the ash tree problem is overcome as an imperative priority.

Seems like a major imminent tree disaster could be a golden opportunity to halt hunting, at least for the time being.

I'm now going to email the Woodland Trust over this.

PS Great job with the badgers

No where near as powerful as the argument during the F&M but it could start to resonate.

Do you have a link to this page?

What an a$$hole. If doing that would help then they'd have to stop the general public on day tripping to woodland and forests as well, and seen as the forestry commission and the woodland trust have invested millions on improving these public areas I can't see that happening.
    Just another desparate idea.

Bonkers, deer will destroy more trees than die back! If left a season!!!

The media have gone nuts over this and the gov has gone with it! Yes it's a problem, it could actually get us to get our act together re. Bio security and nurseries as well as buying in plants. Very little mention of all the other pathogens out there?

it is worrying that the anti lot seem to be getting their act together again. Is it the torrie gov that winds them up???

The hunt I go out with rarely go into the woods, so why stop that? Complete anti pants.

Perhaps I might email him then and ask if he is going to have some more deer culled on his land, obviously to deter poachers, who might spread the disease
