    91-95 4runner timing belt

Anyone changed the belts on one of these? I took the cover off and it looks quite straightforward. are there any problems that should be anticipated?

Is that the 1KZ-TE 3.0 engine?

I can do one in about 12 mins. If so I can talk you through it.

It is quite straight forward - I've watch my local mechanic do it a few times

Worth considering tensioner replacement - Roughtrax 4x4 do set as a kit.

Dont forget to poke something through that grommetted hole in the instrument display to reset timing belt 'counter'.

As long as the tensioner operates correctly there's no need to replace it. When you compress it, you'll need to push a split pin though the hole in the rod and body. When you reassemble, put the belt on first then pull the pin out to release the tensioner piston.
