what rifle with a budget up to 1500

I'm in the market for a new rifle in 6.5x55 and I'm thinking of some thing like the tikka t3 stainless but have got a budget of up to 1500 so was just looking for opinions on what you would buy with the same budget (rifle only & New)??

A bit forward, but we've a cracking 6.5x55 T3 lite ( blue/synthetic ) in secondhand - but from known source, complete with Optilocks. Not new, but 'worry free' and budget would go a long way to moderator, scope etc. PM if of interest.

I would have put a McMillan stock and top grade barrel on the tikka and kept it personally. Failing that a nice sako 85 or sauer 202

Stock wise weight is the only issue if its something to carry, when I was looking with a similar budget I bought a sako 85 Finnlight and really its been a great buy. Nice and light to carry for stalking and seriously accurate really all you want from a rifle.

Looking at guntrader there is one thats been threaded with next to no use up for 1100 bit of a bargain.

    +1 on the Sako...

I went 75 Synthetic Stainless for 900 and then added top notch glass - for more than the rifle cost, but there is fantastic glass for 600 if you go secondhand

    Cheers
