    West lothian DMG

Following on from North Lanarkshire DMGs lead and taking on board Jayb's suggestion that all the DMGs should be registered here we are.

My name is Alex Paul and am currently the chairman of the WLDMG. We have several members who are already on the site and contributing on a regular basis.

Like all the other Scottish Lowland DMGs we are members of the Lowland Deer Network Scotland (LDNS) and through this have built up valued connections with all involved in Lowland Deer issues.

Along with the other Lowland DMGs we are very much involved with education. We have been part of South Lanarkshire Deer Groups DSC Level 1 Assessment Day, Deer Dog Day and assisted with their Urban Deer Guide. We are currently assisting with the Competence Awareness Day as advertised by 6pointer and are busily planning WLDMGs DSC Level 1 Assessment Day which will be held on 6 April 2013. Throughout the combined DMGs we have several AWs who are all willing to support and assist candidates doing Level 2. We all have access to ground which will give a prepared/competent candidate an excellent opportunity to show what they can do.

Our main objective is sustaining a healthy and enjoyable deer population in West Lothian by assisting in addressing the negative impacts.

    Hello Alex,

welcome aboard, important that low ground dmgs become a tad more visible as they go about the business of Deer Management across the central belt. We look forward to contributing towards this end.

Nice post explaining some of the good work that the dmgs have been involved with and are currently undertaking, also highlighting the role that LDNS are playing in bringing together relevant parties in the low ground areas.
