    discovery suspension issues,

A mate has just removed the air suspension from his disco and fitted springs,

now the ride height warning light and sounder are dinging all the time,

can you help sort this out with what he needs to do.

    thanks

    bob.

After a quick look around, it looks like he needs to get the SLABS ECU reprogrammed. Not sure whether there is an easy way of doing this or if it's a dealer jobby.

bob found this quote.... Since you no longer have SLS air springs, your SLS system will need to be turned off at the dealership with their Testbook software..
    found it here ....http://www.discoweb.org/slstocoils/index.htm

    hope this helps

    as matt say,

go to your local garage preferably one that chips engines.
he will have the software to connect to your motor and turn it of, circa 40

You will need to re-configure the SLABS ecu to coil springs.

Not a main dealer job as long as the garage has got an aftermarket Land Rover diagnostic computer.

yeah but depends on which model and age, the management system will still look for it and will use ecu diagnostics to override the problem that doesn't exist. best override and remove it from the equation.

Just cause the light dont flash no more, dont mean the problem aint there ha ha

Also if it is not properly turned off by switching the ECU over then it will run the compressor all the time which can cause all sorts of power, battery and alternator issues. For 40 or so it's not worth the hassle of not getting it done!
