reloading for Tikka T3 Varmint .243

Im looking for some expertise advice

I have recently purchased a Tikka .243 Varmint with a Zeiss 3x12x50 Duralyt scope, Tactical Third eye mounts and over barrel Mod. I zeroed the rifle at 100yds with factory Federal 100 grains sp bullets which were aout 1inch groupings. I have also got a Hornady reloadig kit which i made some ammunition with Hodgdon H414 powderand Hornady 100 Grain SP heads. The max load is 40 grains of powder so it has asked me to download it by 10% - 36 grains which i have but they aint even hitting the board at all. The load was increased to 38 grains and it is a terrible group, maybe 4 inch or so .

The question is should i change to a 95 or 105 grain head and powder that suits them and give that a try?

    Suggestions would be apreciated.

I use 85 grain Gameking with 36.5 of Varget, One hole groups and very effective on Roe/foxes e.t.c

I have the same rifle, which I only use for for foxing now.
I have reloads made for me at the moment until I get set up.

The load I use is 70gr Blitzking, 39gr of Vit 133. They are doing 3340fps with a jetz on the front. Devastating on foxes.

This load works in my rifle but may not suit yours.

I have the same rifle and struggled to find a bullet at 100gr that would stabilise.
Ended up with 36gr N140 behind 100gr btsp's and they are spot on.
I tried several branded 100gr factory bullets the best being Norma but still not to my satisfaction.

Thanks very much. I am just new to this reloading im afraid, i have to learn somewhere but i have been taught by a Gamekeeper in the method so far but everydays a school day i suppose! I have been using 100 Grain federals before as i mostly shoot Roe and fox but get the opportunity on Fallow and reds so i am looking to keep it closer to the 100g as possible.

That's the best way to watch someone else first.

i have a tikka M595. i tryed hornady 100grn btsp with a range of different loads of N160. from about 39.5 grn all the way up too 44.5grn and could not get a load i was happy with. so ended up buying some nosler 95grn bt and they worked like a dream. 45grn of N160 give u one hole groups. so i blammed the gun for not being able to shoot the 100grn bullets but i will try again i am not defeated just yet. it may jyt be wrong powder for 100grn bullets but there are so many different combinations too try.

I have a T3 .243 sporter and couldn't get Hornady 100 gr BTSP to produce a decent group whereas 100 gr Sierra GameKings worked well with IMR 4064 and Viht 160. For a deer load (excl. Scotland) I find that the 85 gr Speer BTSP with RL19 or Varget and 95 gr Hornady SST with RL19 or Viht 160 extremely accurate and effective. For a 100 gr factory load the Norma 100 gr SP works well in my rifle.

I use two loads in my Tikka T3 Varmint in .243

31.5gr of varget with a 100gr sierra spitzer bt

    And

    37gr of H4895 with sierra 70gr Blitzkings

In my T3 SS these both shoot 1" high at 100 yards.
