    .243 Vhit powder

Any one use Vhit 140 for 90 grn ?

Vhit Data says 150 but in a 24" barrel. But i run it through Quick load and 140 gives me a 97% burn in a 20" barrel with the same weight powder as 150.

    So anyone use it ?

it can be used like any other powder but its not the best option for that weight of bullet, get a tub of 160

I've used it in both 80and 87gr with no problems you can only try it and see the results .As said 160 would be the preferred powder but if you haven't got any no harm in trying.

I use n140 with 90grn bullets, the data came from Walt Berger, I am currently using 36grn loads, ok for accuracy if you look at the 3 shot 100m group on the target below, I haven't chronographed it for velocity. atb Tim

Same as Timbrayford. 36 grains of vit 140 behind a 90 grain fmj for range work. Accurate burns clean in the savage 110 and no signs of pressure problems.

I am in Leicester, just off J21 of the M1/M69. I looked and looked for data for N150 for the 243 Winchester and 100 grain bullet when I had my 6mm Remington and couldn't find much in the two official Vihatvouri pamphlets that I had. Grr!

As I had and have one of the small plastic tuns of N150 left over from when I shot 303 in my Lee-Enfield. If you want to buy it then you can. It will be a cheap way of trying loads that do exist for 243 Winchester with that powder on the maker's information sites.

IMO N140 under heavier bullets leaves you with very low case fill

36gr loads in a 53gr case is less than 70%
    not optimal

I use N160 under 90 and 100gr bullets to good effect and good velocities.

but with bullets <87gr N140 is superb.
