The best advice i can give you is approach your police and ask what they will pass.

    Holiday!?

    What is one of those?!

I know what the are asking for
I am interested what other regions are asking for... given they are all meant to be the same....

    Redcare is a BT product
I am aware of others that are cheaper and arguably better, just wondering what people have

    thanks

Thames Valley required a monitored alarm, redcare was expensive so i went with a grade 3 Dualcom Gprs system supplied by a local company.

    interesting
    GPRS was cheaper than RedCare?

I was told grade 3 was required for contents of over a certain value
not entirely sure what it is though

I have been quoted on "grade 2"

ACPO and ACPO(S) have a policy document that sets out the standards for a signalling, monitored alarm system that has a police response. This was brought in to standardise the quality of installation and maintenance. Your local force will have a list of suppliers who are approved to install and maintain this type of alarm system. The police should not favour any particular product or supplier as long as they are on the approved list and install to the required standard.
