    their not pheasants , the pheasants breeding cycle is governed by hours of daylight , this is why some game farms put lights over their breeding stock to get early eggs . A wild pheasant poult the size of a partridge would be about 4-5 weeks old add to this the 24 day incubation period and then 12-15 days to lay the clutch and you will see this is in no way possible , penned pheasants fed on high quality pellets wont start laying until mid to late march and you wont expect to find any wild pheasant chicks until late may
