    Newbie Intro

Been reading threads on The Stalking Directory for ages as a visitor, and thought it was about time I joined!

A bit about me - I've held a FAC for about 15 years, been a part-time 'keeper (if there is such a thing as "part time" when you're a 'keeper!!) and now stalk deer and do a bit of fox and rabbit control with my .22LR, .243 Win & 6.5x55SE. I'm just getting into re-loading and always on the lookout for new sporting opportunities in and around Gloucestershire and further afield.

I also shoot feathered game, fly fish and build custom fishing rods.

I'm looking forward to some interesting discussions and hopefully recommendations for sport 'north of the border'.

    Happy hunting!!!

Thanks for the welcome messages and glad to see some fellow 6.5x55 fans - I've been using the calibre for about 4 years now in a CZ550 American which happily shoots 0.5 MOA with factory ammo (off the bench with bipod at 100m). The calibre certainly punches above its weight but with mild recoil - what more could you want (except perhaps Winchester to offer it as a chambering in their Model 70...)
