Thread: Venison for 20?

    Venison for 20?

    May be this should be in cooking section but I need to know how much venison for a casserole for 20 people?
    i thought maybe 2 haunches and 2 shoulders chopped up from a fallow pricket would do but I'm really not sure. Any one??

    More than enough that's easy what I use to feed 30 on beaters supper at end of season the wife has some good recipes if you need

    Thanks guys. As long as I have more than enough that will be fine. So 1/2 pound a person roughly?

    That'll cook and feed 20 with no problem esp if youre gonna put veggies, onions etc in.

    1/2lb each maybe if they're hairy-arsed stalkers, if I remember correctly the standard catering quantity is 100g per person for meat or fish (approx 1/4lb per person).

    +2. Add a large bucket of chunked up french bread for the soakings and they'll all sit back with a happy "urgh, I'm stuffed..."

    I cooked for 20 and did two roast haunches of Fallow pricket, this was plenty but not much leftover!

    Cooked for 30 plus and a Veni stew made from a recipe that needs two carrier bags of sage leaf, sounds a lot, but comes out 1st class, bulk it out with mushrooms helps.
