I'd like them both better in the old style standard sporter or #1B !

Also am wondering if the twist in the 6.5 is correct ? One in six sounds a tad quick .

The 6.5 is identical to my no1V in 6mm rem. Great rifle but a bit heavy, love mine to bits.

If I get one of the 1V's in 6.5x284 it'll mostly be for the bench , but of course I'll have to blood the darn thing !

Have a 1V now in 220 Swift that does very well albeit the heavy trigger .

Put a Kepplinger trigger into it. That makes a significant difference.

My custom Lilja barreled Ruger #1 in 22-250AI has one of the old Canjar set triggers and that thing is "marvelouse" but like many other good things they're no longer made !

Thought I might try a Kepplinger in my #1B 264 WIN MAG first and if it's okay go from there .

Mine has the kepplinger fitted, breaks at 2lbs clean and crisp, got a leupold 111v on it works a treat.
Did think about getting the barrel fluted to save weight but heard some bad things about accuracy issues so left it alone.
I will rebarrel it one day but it shoots to good to do that yet.

My Canjar when not set breaks at 22 ounces , when it's set it breaks at about 6-8 ounces .

I shot the best 3 shot group of my life with the 22-250AI in the summer of 2011 with the unset trigger ! My 3 shot group at 100 yards with that rifle after deducting the actual diameter of the bullet was .054" . Now I realize thats somewhat of a fluke as I normally can keep that load under or about at .25" but it is what it is and I did acomplish it once !

As to fluting , I've never had it done to a factory gun or a rebarrel . I have however owned a number of Remington 700 Sendero's and VSSF's that were stainless and factory fluted that shot a good deal better then I could hold them .
