Can anyone recommend an antique weapons dealer?

My father has a webley mark 2 service air rifle in .22 and he's looking to sell it and was wondering if anyone on here can recommend a good antiques dealer? he took it to one gunshop that offered him a stupidly low price for it saying they're not really a collectors item! needless to say they were talking complete b0ll0x and where just trying to rip my dad off!
so if anyone can recommend a dealer it would be greatly appreciated by us both:D

Try Bill Pink at Historic Guns Militaria Alternatively, advertise it yourself in Gun Mart. You'll get a far better price for it than from any dealer; even one that's not ripping you off will have to offer you a lot less than it's worth in order to sell it at a profit. If you can post a pic, one or two on here would probably be able to give you a fairly accurate idea of what you should be asking for it.

Hi! Check out www.holtsauctioneers.com and use the search facility to check past sale archives with prices realised. That will tell you the price set by the market place. It may be more, even with their commission, that an RFD will offer.

You need to find ARCHIVES then AIR WEAPONS then enter in the search box the "keyword" WEBLEY SERVICE

Holt's are very good but be aware that you will loose approximately 25% in commission. I would not UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES recommend an auctioneers based near Newark!

Others are possible Gavin Gardiner or Bonhams. Again both of these, as does Holt's, have collection and valuation days in your area.

Hope it helps you realise a FAIR price!

cheers for the info will get on it tomorrow thanks again:D

In that condition, provided it's in working order, I'd say £250-£300. If there are any bits of damage like a broken butt plate or missing/broken sight parts they would reduce the value slightly.
