Well they nearly got it right with "innards of frogs." Surely the RSPB know what this is? It's frogspawn before it's been "laid" crows and herons spit it out when they eat the poor frog.

+1, can't believe RSPB don't know what it is, the female frogs are making there way to water to mate and this is the spawn before the eggs have been fertilised, and as Jubnut says not very palatable for anything that eats the frogs.
