What do you consider heavy and short?

My Fn 7x57 commercial Mauser with 24" barrel and a 7x scope weighs a little less than 9lbs. My FN commercial Mauser with 24" barrel and a 3x9 scope weighs a little less than 9.5 lbs. These are not what I would consider light, but don't consider them heavy. I prefer their weight to lighter or heavier rifles. They are easier, to me, to hold on than lighter rifles. What do you consider light/heavy. Again, I think that the barrel length is about right for the cartridge/purpose that they are used. I consider anything under 8lbs light and over 10lbs heavy and barrels under 22 short and over 24 long.

What do you consider long/short and light/heavy? capt david

We have the same taste in rifles, I've never been a fan of light wieght rifles. Apart from the recoil, I just like the feel of a " heavier" rifle. The older Huskies, Mausers( Parker-Hales included), pre-64 winchesters, etc, feel right to me..... maybe I'm just an old fart lol
