Question Any suggestions on where to go to get a gillie job in Inverness-shire?

I am 15, incredibly keen on stalking and am hoping to go to Thurso College to do Gamekeeping in September 2014, and would like to get as much experience as i possibly can before i go. Any suggestions on a place tp get this experience would be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi Euan.

You'll be in capable hands at North Highland College, the guys that tutor that course are sound.

Have you thought about speaking to them directly to see if they can offer you any advice on where you might get some experience before you start your course? I know they've links with an estate closer to the college, that they use for placements etc, they might also know keepers on other estates closer to you too.

    Good luck.

There's a general email address on the college website that you could try, it's easier sometimes to get yourself across on paper than over the phone. Mark your email "FAO R. McNicol and D. Shaw" in the subject line - they're the guys that lead the Gamekeeping courses.
