Thread: Most common deer calibre on this site?

  1. #1

Most common deer calibre on this site?

For no other reason than I'm bored, just interested to see the actual ratio regarding calibres - there's a similar thread at the moment asking about what everyone's using but thought this would be clearer...

Pick the calibre you use the most often for deer if you have more than one!

Now if I can just work out how to do a poll....

Early days, but the 6.5x55 is looking strong at the moment with 50% of votes cast...

    Cheers

My money's on the swede or '06 - both "fashionable" calibres

Fashion is for people who don't know what they like...

Good point! You should have seen some of the looks, guffaws and raised eyebrows I saw at Malc's when I said that I'd ordered an unmoderated wooden-stocked stutzen rifle... Hopefully it will arrive this week and I may be able to use it in the Stalker's Match on Sunday, although I'm not sure that's a great day to come and zero and test it.

You'll get some tuts if you try and zero on a Match Day, be warned. Best to leave until 12th and bring to Range Day where you can grab a bench at 08:30 and just play...

    Looking forward to seeing it!

    Cheers

Probably a good idea. I just liked the idea of having a specific purpose in mind for it, given that it didn't arrive in time for the deerstalking. I suppose in the meantime, I can just look at it...
