Looks like an Axis to me
“Man surprised me most about humanity. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”........Dalai Lama

Yes, half right, one half chital if you mean this by Axis. There are two other species in the other half.
There are several species of Axis however, in the US they use Axis to decribe chital, its a bit like calling a red deer Cervus when there are many deer in this genus. Down here we have Axis porcinus (hog deer) & Axis axis (chital).

The other hybrid stags in the photo are a pretty good clue.

Well, it looks like a sika rack and axis and sika do hibredise so I would go for that mix.

I do see your point, & it's a good guess as they are from asia , but not any sika in the mix I'm sorry.

    Getting closer.
Think India/Sri Lanka (ceylon) & Timor (Indonesia) for the other hybrid parent over the pure chital.

PS I have the photos of calves from these crosses back to the pure parents again just to show that they are fertile.
So much for our idea of Genus, species, etc?
