    Reloading 6.5x55 Blaser

Reloading kit arrives next week so wondered if anyone can offer the magic formula.

I have little knowledge and would welcome any help.... On bullet choice 120 & 140, for reds and fallow....powder and anything else you think I need to know...

If there are any SD links then please feel free to add them in below

    Hi

I use HPS-TR to reload my brass, and until now it's all been Federal brass, Hornady 140gr SST and 46.7 grains N160. I've chrono'd these at 2,660 fps mv...

I got my mitts on some Nosler 120gr BTs a couple of weeks ago, so HPS are loading those with 50.7 grains N160, which according to the manual will head out at 2,970 fps mv

I also supplied them with some Norma brass, so will have a pick 'n' mix of Federal & Norma brass, loaded with the 140gr SSTs and 120gr BTs to play with soon.

It's all rocket surgery to me, which is why use them to do it for me! Works though, as I can group 5 rounds of SSTs into 1/2" and had 2 Roe drop in their own hoof tracks in early Dec.

Anyway, these are what I am using, and there will be plenty of other choices I'm sure

    Cheers

I have a Sauer and have just acquired a Blaser in 6.5 x 55. At the moment I am using Lapua 156 grain Megas which replaced 160 grain Hornady RN. These move quite slowly but seem effective. I did have a go with some Nosler 120 grain BT. I was surprised to find one fail to exit on a fallow pricket and one similar result on a red hind. No problems with neck shots. I am now experimenting with Barnes XFB, loaded with IMR4350, which should run out at around 2600-2700 FPS. I am hoping this will work in both rifles.
