    Restocking a Model 70 Featherweight

Hi Guys, I'm toying with the idea of restocking my Model 70 .243 with a full alum bedded Hogue sporter stock. I was going to buy a new rifle, but fancy the idea of tinkering with what I've got to make a reasonably accurate rifle, simply better.

Any hints or pitfalls gratefully received !

Try a Boyds stock, usually off the Shelf and cheap, getting a Laminate for the pre 64 Mod 70 I've just finished re barreling in 243!

Before you make any hasty decisions regarding a laminate.
Come and speak to me at the show at Kelso. Fusion stock works may very well be able to help. We can discuss exactly what you are looking for!

And if your old stock is walnut, I'll buy it from you.~Muir

As its a featherweight why not consider putting it in a fullstock/stutzen?

I've seen this done and it looks cool, different and above all in keeping with the scale of your model.
