Hi.
I live in West Sussex, where I have carried out most of my stalking over the past thirteen years, or so.
I have concentrated mainly on woodland stalking for roe deer, but have also accounted for a few fallow as well.
Fortunate in my location ( I live on a 1,000 acre shooting estate), I have accounted for a number of medal heads as well as general numbers management.
I have also stalked in Scotland, most notably on the Isle of Arran, where I was shooting red deer hinds.
Over the years I have used a number of calibres, finally settling on a .308 for red deer and a .243 with sound moderator for roe.
My other rifles are a .222 that I use for foxes and a .22 rimfire for smaller vermin. I did have a .22-250 for a while, but sold it when I learnt that the muzzle velocity exceeded the permissable limit at Bisley!
