Thread: First week - - weights ?

    First week - - weights ?

Aye - - - a good start to the Buck season...Three different clients with a six-pointer each. Larder weights (Gralloched, head and feet off) were 20,21 & 22 Kilos. How does this compare with other parts of the country ?

    Plenty about !

Good David - - I hope you're fine. Aye getting on grand here. Weather has been great for last couple of weeks - - til this morning - - a wee fall of snow. Thought we'ld missed it. A rude awakening for me and Alison - - it was bringing down the nets on top of the pheasants !

I dare say finding the eggs in the snow will be fun for someone this evening - - I'm not volunteering !

Here was the one taken last night from your ground at last light John. He did well to get him. Lovely head and nearly fully clean.

Position and hold must be firm enough to support the firearm
The firearm must point naturally at the target without any undue physical effort
Sight alignment (aiming) must be correct
The shot must be released and followed through without disturbing the position

Thanks for that TJ - - It crossed my mind earlier and I did wonder if a photo had been taken.

Got one on the opening day that was 16kg in the larder. A decent size for that ground, he was only just clean with the antlers still having a pink colour to them.

Shot one button at 22 kgs and one nice 6 pointer just clean at 18 kgs. Would expect them to be slightly heavier but think this snow has knocked them back.
