    Federal vital shock 3006

Hi does anyone have a opinion on the above bullets I got talked into a couple of boxes in 180 grain they are nosler partitions so should be good although bloody expensive at 50 a box I'm new to the 06 and after doing a bit of reading I thought a big heavy bullet would suite my needs as I shoot a few reds but mainly roe and I was advised a smaller. Faster bullet could pop roe and make a mess now I've not tried the federals as yet as I aslo bought a couple of boxes if remi core lock 150 grains just for plinking really and getting a feel for my new rifle they shoot paper well enough so much so I only used a box but reading about the damage lighter bullets do to smaller deer I'm abut dubious as to use them What do any of you guys think ps the Remi s were only 20 a box so a big difference

Almost won the longest single sentence disguised as a paragraph there! Comma's and some spaces would help folk read the post & get around to giving the advice asked for....

    50 a box!!! FFS = 250 per 100.
If folk start actually paying such wildly inflated prices the importers will not only see that as the price to aim for, they'll bump it up every Jan & anytime else they get a chance!

Try the lighter bullets, then see what the difference is

Remi also make heavy bullets...though you don't say what weight the "lighter" ones were, so difficult to say more really.

But, for 250 a 100, I'd be doing some serious shopping around for a better supply or another make that offers 180grn bullets.

Seven lines and only one full stop - definately a record.

250 per 100 that's pretty blooming expensive ammo.
It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.

I carnt work this poxy I phone you see so I'm just a one line ranted I'm afraid the remi were 150 grain I would not like to like the federals at that price but was assured they are the most popular by some margin

and that bullet has got quite a good reputation. The brass isn't bad for reloading either.
