    Sako 6.5x55 Gamehead 156 gr

Has anybody any experience with this round. I currently use 139 gr which I find effective - mostly woodland stalking.

no, but I use the 156g normal vulcan and it drops big adrenalin fuelled stags in the rut pretty darn swiftly! not a round for 300 yarders, but that's not stalking anyway ;-)

Does anyone have experience with them for roe ? They would be used for fallow and muntjac also.

Sounds a bit heavy for anything Roe & Muntie size to me... I use 140gr SSTs for everything down South - not been onto Reds yet, but will not be an issue

I use the Sako Gamehead in .308 (150grn) excellant bullet. I have shot Sika, Fallow and Roe no problems with the bullet. If I can get it the Sako would be my bulet of choice for all deer. A good quality bullet at a reasonable price.
It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.

I have used them on fallow and roe found them to be spot on not much damage to the roe shot on re-planted or woodland fallow fallow does with 6.5x55 159grn
If its hit its history / If its missed its a mystery

A gun is always loaded .A mule always kicks

any 156-160gr is excellent on roe bucks in the summer and is my choice of bullet once the corn is standing. they cleave through undergrowth and do not deflect easily and in the summer the ranges are usually short.

    Correction
My mistake it is the Hammerheads not the Gamehead that I use and have found to be excellant.

I found a load of these at £16 a box and bought them up. I use them for everything. Taken plenty of muntjac and roe.
