my new well kind of new M77

Picked up my new .243 Ruger M77 mk2 on friday fresh from Steve at The Hunters Cabin in Aberdeenshire. Dont let looks deceive you its all cosmetic, the rifling and crown are as clean as a whistle and it shoots spot on. Took it up the range and happily shot through 20 95gr Winchester XP3s until i remembered they are 30 a box

not bad for 250 inc next day p+p and it had rings and a Burris 6x Fullfield.

tidied up the bluing and but a few fresh coats over the top of the existing and stripped the stock to refinish it but it had deep stains where the varnish had rubbed off so i decided a camo finish will have to do. Not really happy with the result if im honest so its back to the workshop this week for a full camo job.

Shame about the painting. The wood had some nice graining and a little TLC and a refinish would have had it looking great.

Glad to hear it shoots well.
