Making a handgun from plastic and a 3D printer.

I came across this whilst listening to the World Service last night.

Bad news perhaps? I can see strict control of any reloading component happening as a result. Maybe I am reading too much into it as availability is already here. Hope I am reading too much into it that's for sure.

I am not sure that criminals would bother going to that kind of trouble with the apparent ease that they can unlawfully obtain Section 5 firearms in this country. atb Tim

Agree, it may be of interest to terrorists who want to get on an aircraft though.
Not a real threat to reloaders though
To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

Typical media crap ; total hype about nothing.

When has it not been possible to download or buy drawings for a firearm and make with the minimum of tools? That single shot gun poses more of a threat to the shooter than any possible victim.

Totally agree, zip guns have been around for eternity.
It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.

I have seen a moderator made like this, a .22 for an airgun I hasten to add (!), and it looked the biz but cannot vouch for its effectiveness as it wasn't demonstrated.

I have a complete breakdown blueprint of a glock as a mouse mat, people who want a gun will get one, and not waste time tryin to build one.
