As per the title, BBC news is running a story about a 'big' cull this September and whether its justified or not!

I saw a bit of it and they looked quite tame!

Section 161 of the Highways Act 1980 (England & Wales) makes it an offence to discharge a firearm within 50 ft of the centre of a highway with vehicular rights without lawful authority or excuse, if as a result a user of the highway is injured, interrupted or endangered.

Did you also see hear the BBC reporter claiming that it was not known how the boar came to be in the forest but that one possibility was that farmers rearing wild boar had deliberately released them?
Or the Wild Boar Trust, whose spokesman said they would compaign against any culling of wild boar, that they should be celebrated and that there were alternatives to culling such as relocating.
Why in the name of God do we pay the license fee to fund such s***e?

Didn't think it over responsible showing reporter that close to a "wild" boar would be interesting to see him do it to a sow with young!

+1 the antis seem to have the BBC on their side anti Badger cull anti Deer cull i watched the news this morning and they were on about the Forrest of Dean and the Wild Boar cull showing 2 boar in a way that made them look like pets. They are wild and dangerous animals so perhaps when someone walking their dog gets attacked maybe they will be shown in light they should be Rant over.

The animal they showed in the report was not typical, the ones round my part are sharp as hell. FC will cull hard no doubt, even in areas without issues. Most are caught in cage traps and shot. No doubt there a reasonable number in the main Dean again but when they culled 150 odd 2 years ago, they did a census afterwards and couldn't find any!
