Has anyone had experience of owning/working one in the UK?

I do like the look and attitude of them! Not seen one in the flesh though. Probably best suited to the continental methods. Jagare has one.

My friend in Sweden uses one for all his Boar work, truly awesome hound.

Seen him work some tough trails with great results, plenty of attitude when needed too.

Cracking dog, I'd have one in a heartbeat.

Here in Germany we run a bunch of them....
Good breed, good nose, good barking on the track, some of them also good on tracking wounded deer.
A good choice for larger hunting grounds, if proper breeded adwell trained. Nothing for smaller patches, rural areas or small game... It needs to run!
People's hobbies are more their measure's than are their jobs.
