    How Not to Dispose of Deer Bits - depressing

    Had a call from a friend earlier this morning - he was down at the local harbour and had had the unpleasant job of clearing up a gralloched doe, complete with un born fawns. The remains - skin, head, legs and gralloch had been dumped in a plastic bag next to the bins by the marina. The seagulls had got to it. A .22 sized hole through the head says it all, so this is not somebody tidying up ufter a road kill. Some low life has gone out, poached a deer that is off season, gralloched it later, and left the bits where lots of people - including young children can find it.

    Thats terrible, unfortunetly there are bad people in all walks of life, even in the shooting community which in my own experiance tends to have some of the most conscientious and good intentioned people ive ever met. Consequently nothing surprises me - however hopefully the culprit will push their luck and get caught red handed soon enough!

    Just a thought but if the area is covered by CCTV you have a right to request a copy of the tape if you have been recorded under the Data protection act. If you wanted to you could try and request a copy of the tapes, see if it contained video of the culprit and then hand then into the police

    Not surprised, these people have no respect for anything or anyone.

    Sadly this type of incident is on the up with no attempt to hide what they have done.

    Have the police been informed?

    Maybe they'd be interested in taking a DNA sample... could be linked back to a suspected poacher's car or something?

    ..... a lot of marinas have cctv cameras, speak to the harbour master
    By three methods we may learn wisdom:
    First, by reflection, which is noblest;
    Second, by imitation, which is easiest;
    and third by experience, which is the bitterest
