    No tails on my squirrels??

This is the second one I've had in a week with no tail. Got a fully grown adult on Friday with no tail, not even a tuft, this young one has a slight tuft but no tail. Thought they might be related?

It is possible I guess but I would think accidental damage more likely. A squirrel depends on its tail for balance etc and would really struggle with some of its aerial acrobatics without one. I am curious who else has seen tail less ones

What got me thinking was, that I got this one only within about 100 yards area of the one on Friday.

its my full time job , killing squirrels . That number was shot and trapped i also used alot of poison last year , last autum there was a lack of natural food this coupled with the harsh winter has been hard on the squirrels . This is a world heritage site and SSSI , outside the SSSI we have alot of beech clumps planted in the 1700s , the squirrel control is to protect the replacement beech plantations , protect songbirds from predation reduce compertion with hole nesters . My little grey friends are very thin on the ground inside the park but theres alot of ground outside the park and alot of rabbits to go at
