    White callous lumps on lung

I have just seen lungs from a roe which had white callous lumps (hard but uniformly dry and firm all the way through) both on the edge and within the lungs. Am interested in the cause of this - can anyone help me?

    Many thanks,

    Henry

Got any photos to show us it might be easier to identify.

Could be TB. What were the lymph nodes like? Where was the deer shot? Any pictures?

Section 161 of the Highways Act 1980 (England & Wales) makes it an offence to discharge a firearm within 50 ft of the centre of a highway with vehicular rights without lawful authority or excuse, if as a result a user of the highway is injured, interrupted or endangered.

No photos - lungs discarded long ago.

Animal seemingly healthy in behaviour and condition. Lymph nodes not thoroughly checked but the retropharyngeals and mesenterics indicated nothing abnormal. No lesions inside chest cavity.
