anything built on the older tikka actions like a 595, and of course who built it,
    .
not sure who has one built on a sako action but there is a nice one in the for sale section.

Yes the bottom one is sold...coz I bought it!! There is however a nice 17 fireball that I very nearly bought with a Shilen tube that has done very little.

To be honest I would have had the fireball but the McMillan stock swung it for me!

    Best of luck

well being the ex owner of both of the rifles mentioned there isnt much in it between the fireball and the rem. the rem is easier to get brass for. but the fireball only used about 18 grains of powder compared to 22.4 in the rem with 20 grain vmax.

the only reason i sold fireball is it wouldnt feed very well from the m595 action. it wasnt really a problem if you fitted a single shot follower into the mag. but i didnt want to start cutting and messing with the mag i had with it.

for the price its for sale for it is a bargain. and imo a much better rifle then the remmy on offer on guntrader.

i will have another rem in the future but not just yet i need to sort a light weight munty legal 223 out to replace my 22/250. and then fill my 6 mm slot with a nice 6 br.
the 17's are so much fun. there is no recoil so to speak. they use little powder and the performance is superb.

all the foxes i shot with the fireball i think only one exit the body. when you go up to them i had to give them a little kick to make sure they where dead ! they of course were dead.
but due to the bullet expanding inside the fox with out exit.

they just looked like they where asleep a superb calibre

i know richard pope had some 18 and 1/2 inch lothar walther barrels. he chambered in 17 fireball. if you can find a cheap sako a1 or hw action. or annie action.
the barrel profile is perfect for these little barrels.

and make a very handy all round jeep vermin rifle

Its been a while since I bought mine but Sako A1, Tikka M595, Rem 700 and cz 527 are all nice rifles. You will probably struggle to find a clean one though as they don't come up for sale too often. I spent nearly 7 months looking.

Why not consider a Cooper Arms "Western Classic" on their short action as something a little different?

I also have a cooper and they are excellent, just a long wait for them to arrive!!
